Children's Books Too Cool for School

Prydain Chronicles (Series) by Lloyd Alexander (A "Top 50 Post")

Well, right up here at the top. Makes it look important, no? Well, it isn't number one, or even my favorite youth fantasy series, but it definitely has its "classic" status going for it. Many a young man started his nerdy fantasy-reading career on these.

I, on the other hand, came to these books as an adult. Which probably warps my opinion somewhat.

(Series favorite? The first. The rest all get increasingly serious. I like the humor of Taran, assistant pig-keeper.)
